We're launching Kinetic Mingle tomorrow - a video-first dating app that makes catfishing impossible
Hey Product Hunt community! I'm Shawn, founder of Kinetic Mingle, and I'm excited to announce that we're launching here TOMORROW - March 31st at 12:01 AM PT!
Kinetic Mingle is a video-first dating app for adults 21+ who are tired of catfishing and fake profiles. What makes us different: AI-powered matching that analyzes compatibility, mandatory video chat before messaging, verified profiles, voice notes, and a community built on trust.
I built this because I was frustrated with the same dating cycle - swiping on curated photos, matching with people who look nothing like their profiles, and wasting weeks texting before realizing there's zero chemistry.

We'd love your support tomorrow! Use promo code PRODUCTHUNT for 30 days at just $7.99. Any launch day advice from the PH community would be amazing!

This is a really strong angle, especially forcing video early to filter out low-intent users.
One thing I’d watch on launch is where the drop-off happens between signup and that first mandatory video step. That’s probably where most users will hesitate, even if they like the idea in theory.
You might get better early traction by reframing it as “skip weeks of texting and know in minutes if there’s chemistry” instead of focusing too much on the problem of fake profiles.
Curious how you’re thinking about onboarding flow for that first interaction, feels like that’s where this either clicks or loses people.
@kosy_gtm Good catch — we discovered there is branding instances where the language implies video is mandatory. Were on this right now because like you mentioned, users will be hesitant. Video chat is a featured option, not a requirement. Appreciated!
@shawn_upson If it’s optional, you could even lean into it as a power feature instead of something that feels like a hurdle. Like positioning it as a faster way to figure out chemistry rather than part of the process.
Out of curiosity, are you planning to guide users toward trying video early, or letting them discover it on their own? Feels like how you introduce that could really impact adoption.
Excited for Kinetic Mingle's launch tomorrow...video-first dating to kill catfishing is such a needed fix!
Quick tip from my past PH launches: outreach...outreach...outreach was the key.
If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge on PH soon...an AI-powered flashcard app that turns webpages into spaced repetition study material. Would appreciate a follow (link in profile).
