After spending years around data and automation, I kept running into the same gap: retention and outreach are important, but for small teams they are still too manual to do consistently well.

Been building for the past year on a problem I kept running into personally: too many tabs open just to understand how my business is doing. YouTube analytics here, Stripe there, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Analytics all disconnected.

Started building something that connects all of it with an AI agent that reads your real data instead of giving generic answers.

Question for the community: for those of you running a creator business or early-stage startup what's the one data source you check first every morning and why?

My background is mainly in frontend development and e-commerce, but over the past year I ve been expanding into backend engineering, infrastructure, security, and product development while building my first startup as a solo founder.

I m currently working on VAT Engine, an EU VAT calculation and compliance platform for developers and e-commerce teams. I started it after seeing how quickly VAT becomes fragmented across countries, product categories, transaction dates, thresholds, integrations, and reporting workflows.

Building it has pushed me far beyond writing interface code. I now work across Go, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, APIs, commerce integrations, testing, security, documentation, and the less comfortable founder tasks such as positioning, outreach, and customer discovery.

I'm Sophia, based in Phoenix, Arizona. I write about personal finance, gold markets, and the money stuff that most people find confusing or intimidating. Got into this space after realizing how little most people know about the value of what they already own, especially gold jewelry sitting forgotten in a drawer somewhere.

After 18+ years in the IT industry, I'm fascinated by how we build things today. I rely heavily on AI-assisted "vibe coding" for rapid prototyping, but when it comes to the core logic, I'm all about the strictness and performance of Rust.

As the thread suggests I will introduce myself. I am long time coder and marketer usually building websites and marketing content, full-stack frontend and backend using PHP, MySQL, Javascript, CSS etc, I have been creating web apps for an age for smaller companies and start-ups so it's now my time to put a few projects out there that I am working-on.
The first will be my desktop Image Compression and Conversion software called "LLM Image Optimizer", it goes way beyond a simple web tool, its a full desktop app for MacOS and Windows and also includes built-in image editing, annotations and watermarking, and screen capture features, what cool it that it provides image analytics so you can really se how much money it saves you, from AI Token Cost Saving to Load Times on websites and bandwidth savings.
I built it because I wanted to reduce my AI Token usage costs when building apps with tools like Cursor, as screen grabbing images and posting them as context can be costly, so my app creates a streamlines approach that saves you money in the long term. Its not just for developers, I worked as a wedding photographer for a few years too and found the jumping between apps to optimize images for the website portfolio was extremely time consuming, especially when you want to do a large batch of edits, so my app ticks that box too.
Anyway, without waffling on too much, I am keen to hook-up with other PH users so any collabs and hunters (if thats still a thing now?).
