I'm building Travel Fi an open-source, community-driven map designed to map out critical Public Goods infrastructure for digital nomads, budget backpackers, and solo travelers.

Right now, the project is a working prototype in active development. The architectural foundation is ready, and we are currently refining the code and preparing the platform for a stable production launch.

Instead of letting big tech monopolies hoard geospatial data, Travel Fi returns everything directly to the public domain via OpenStreetMap.

At the moment, our roadmap includes these 10 essential Public Goods and travel utility categories:

1. SIM & eSIM kiosks (tariffs, 24/7 access, airport proximity)

2. Public toilets & showers (with community cleanliness ratings)

3. Free drinking water refill points and fountains

4. Public laundries

5. Luggage storage (including free community options via cafes/hostels)

6. Charging points and outlets

7. ATMs with minimal fees & live user-reported exchange rates

8. Free parking and overnight spots for vanlife

9. 24/7 pharmacies and first aid points

10. Travel lifehacks (free food points, coworking spaces, safe zones)

To keep the map spam-free without central moderators, we use a decentralized verification and location-based voting system.

These days I build incident response plans that would've cost $5,000 to $15,000 or more from an outside firm. I know because we looked, and there was nothing out there worth the price.

Going on 30+ years in this industry. Started as an intern at IBM, cut my teeth on mainframes, worked through the early distributed computing era with NT 4.0, lived through Y2K, spent time on Wall Street. Now I'm a Director responsible for cybersecurity and incident response.

That pricing gap is what got me building. Two years of development, running in real production, still getting refined every time a new problem shows up. I tried the AI slop route first and it wasn't good enough. This needed real logic and decision trees a generic output can't fake.

If you're building anything in security, compliance, or for small orgs and nonprofits, happy to compare notes on what's actually working versus what just sounds good in a demo.

It's been almost a year since I've been on PH. What changes have happened on PH in the last year? Is everyone doing well?

I write novels myself, and that's the whole origin story: I kept losing time re-reading my own chapters just to remember details I'd already written. A character's eye color. A place name I'd mentioned once, three chapters back. Word and Docs weren't built for that. Scrivener is, but you still build every character sheet by hand.

So I built the thing I actually wanted: an editor where AI reads your manuscript and builds your character and world reference for you, instead of asking you to fill out another form. There's also a style assistant that flags repetitions and weak verbs as you type, and voice dictation for days when typing isn't the bottleneck, thinking is.

I'm Khushi. I work on go-to-market at Round Funded, where we help founders raising their first round find investors who are actually active and actually a fit for their stage. So my days are mostly spent on positioning, channels, and trying to understand how founders decide anything.

I ended up in GTM because I like the part where you're wrong in public and have to figure out why. Most of what I know came from things that didn't work, which is also why I like this forum. People here are unusually willing to say what flopped.

I'm mostly here to learn how other people are getting distribution right now, especially anyone selling to founders or to other builders, since that audience is its own particular challenge.

I run @Cnvrted , think of it as Bloomberg for buying intent. It scrapes the internet in real time to find people who are actually ready to buy, not just names on a list. Tagline's literally "buyers, not names."

Wild part: I'm not a designer or a dev by background. Built the whole thing with AI tooling (Claude Code + a lot of trial and error). Still slightly amazed it works.

Before this I was doing content and marketing stuff, so I'm equal parts builder and storyteller.

me a vibe coder, and i have built stuff in past but really got nothing from that in the end except " experience" but ya nothing really special
i just accidently pressed something and it turned on this italics , i can probablly find out how to turn it off but i am just gonna keep going with it and ya i was saying i made stuff people didnt really care about , it was so bad that people didnt even say a rude no let alone a polite one but ya that made me really wanna quit this coding
