To me, the notch at the top interferes with the UI on the screen. I need to process that a bit more before I can pull the trigger on this one.

I feel like FaceID is no more convenient than TouchID. I can think of several situations where I would actually prefer TouchID. Seems like they went with it for two reasons: 1) They didn't have the ability to work TouchID into the screen and didn't like alternative placements 2) FaceID would make a good marketing topic (its flashy and new)

The ugly black part at the top will influence the experience of watching movies, play games, viewing pics because part of the image/video will be cut out. FaceID is secure but I have to well open eyes to let it recognize and not sure if it can recognize well enough when there are water on the font sensor especially in the rain. From demo, it seems FaceID is slower than TouchID. I think for a normal customer/users, touchID is much more usable and quicker.

Bigger and OLED screen, smaller size than 7plus/8plus, more secure FaceID

Cons:

FaceID is slower than Touch ID, not convenient, No home button, ugly black part at the top, lots of UX changes

I think they could have leveraged the OLED tech to make the status bar blend in with the casing. They could have used 3Dtouch to provide a home-button-esque feel when interacting with the bottom gesture bar.

Big Screen to Body ratio, Face ID

Cons:

Status Bar UI seems strange

FaceID is a major breaktrough. Animoji can be widely used, but by younger audiences and it's just a fancy addition to FaceID. I look forward to check the AR functionality.

So biometric finger replaced by Face ID. Not bad... wondering if they have improved Siri? Oh well.. I will but it anyways 🙌

the last iphone I actually paid for was the iphone 3g, so I'm due to pay an upgrade this time around lolz.. unless I can convince work 'again' that this X is absolutely critical for my mission haha..

but—can you disable haptic feedback altogether?
