Journalist Hunt helps you get media attention by connecting you with over 100k+ journalists in one place. Stop pitching blindly, find the right journalists who care about your story, so you can land press mentions, build authority, and grow your business fast.
Getting your story in front of the right journalists is very hard. Manually searching through LinkedIn, X, media outlets, staff directories and other random platforms can take lots of hours of your time and still leave you with the incomplete or wrong data.
To solve this problem, we built Journalist Hunt: a comprehensive database of 100,000 journalists to feature your business.
We have 100,000 journalists live today, each with 40+ data points: • Name, role, seniority, outlet, journalist type • Beats, industries, what they cover and don’t • Bios, Blurbs, recent articles, total articles • Verified contacts (email, socials) • Outlet details (website, socials, founded year, location) • And more
You can filter by location, primary & secondary beats, title, outlet, industry, or format (print, podcast, video) and build outreach lead lists in minutes.
We first launched an early version about two years ago. We gained some traction, but users churned. Turns out, people really cared about the depth of data points. Instead of quitting, we rebuilt everything. Now we’re launching it out in stages: 100k live today, another 100k in a couple of weeks, and we'll continue until we hit at least 400k journalists across every industry.
Also, most journalist/media database tools cost thousands a year or more. We believe you shouldn’t have to pay that much to get good data, so we built Journalist Hunt to give nearly the same depth, but at a price that makes sense for smaller companies and teams.
As part of our Product Hunt launch, we’re offering 50% off forever with code PH50 (this week only). Just apply it at checkout.
Hey Rashid! Do you have any results? E.g. how many brands/businesses successfully found the right journalist and articles were published thanks to this tool?
@busmark_w_nika Hey Nika, good question! With the first version we had quite a few paid users who used our database to reach out to journalists, but we didn’t track who got featured. With this version, we’ll have tracking in place.
@shardul_lavekar Good question! We aggregated journalist data from different media outlets, social platforms, journalist directories, LinkedIn, X, and other relevant platforms and then organized it by beats, industries, locations and other filters.
Apollo is more of a broad lead tool, while we focus specifically on building the most comprehensive journalist specific database

Hi @rashid_khasanov Noticed a small bug on first visit as well as page refresh. There is a blank snackbar (toast) that pops up with only the error icon but no message (screenshot attached). Checked on desktop + mobile both. Rest everything looks good.
@ashok_nayak Oops! Let us get that fixed real quick. Thanks for pointing it out Ashok!

Looks like a solid pick for founders trying to cut through cold outreach noise. Curated journalist lists, niche filters, and the whole flow feels built to save some serious time. Impressive!
@daud_ahsan Hey Daud, happy to have you on board! Cheers

Great!!! Journalist Hunt establishes a channel between a business or team and journalists. Does the platform have a recommendation function that can automatically recommend journalists that match companies based on their characteristics?
@wayne_appgrowing Thanks Wayne! We don't have a recommendation feature built in, but it's easy to use filters to find the right journalists for your business.
It's definitely a great idea, and we'll think about adding it in the future.
@michael_vavilov Yes, absolutely! One distinction is that we have a much more comprehensive journalist database compared to broad lead tools like Zoominfo.

@rashid_khasanov I think that some case studies could help to sell it more :)
@busmark_w_nika @rashid_khasanov would love to see some case studies if you have them!

Rashid, this looks great! I have just signed up.
Curious:
how is this different from the list of emails I can fetch from apollo.io? do journalists upload their contact details themselves?

Is it like zoominfo but for journalists search?
