massCode 6 - Snippets, notes and an HTTP client in one local workspace

massCode started as a snippet manager and is now a desktop workspace for developers. Keep code snippets, Markdown notes and API requests together and link them to each other. It includes a full HTTP client with GraphQL, WebSocket, scripts, tests and a runner, an AI assistant that uses your own provider or a local model, and offline search by meaning. Everything is stored as plain Markdown files on your disk. Free, open source, no account.

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Anton, the maker of massCode. Some of you may remember massCode as a small snippet manager from our launches here in 2020 and 2022. Since then it has grown into something different: a desktop workspace where code snippets, technical notes and API requests live together. Why? My work kept getting split between an editor, a notes app, an HTTP client and a pile of browser tabs. The request that broke yesterday, the code that calls it and the note explaining why were never in one place. What's in massCode 6: • Code: snippets with folders, tags and fragments (several files or languages under one snippet) • Notes: Markdown with links to other notes, snippets and requests, plus tasks, a graph, mindmaps and presentation mode • HTTP: collections, environments, GraphQL, WebSocket, scripts, assertions and a runner for request sequences. Import from OpenAPI, Postman and Bruno • Math, Drawings and Tools: a calculator notebook, an Excalidraw canvas and everyday developer utilities • AI assistant that works with your own provider or a local model through Ollama or LM Studio • Search by meaning with a built-in model that runs offline Everything is stored as plain Markdown files in a folder you choose, so you can keep it in Git or sync it with iCloud, Dropbox or Syncthing. No account. Free and open source (AGPL-3.0), for macOS, Windows and Linux. massCode is built by one person, so honest feedback helps a lot: what would make it part of your daily work, and what is missing?
