Why we chose a tilt instead of a button?
Honestly, this started from frustration.
Every time we used a translation app in a real conversation, the same thing happened. Tap, wait, pass the phone, wait again. After a minute, nobody was really talking anymore. We were just staring at a screen, waiting for our turn.
So we tried something different. You hold the phone between you, each person sees their own side, and when you're done talking you just tilt it toward the other person. That's it. You keep looking at each other, and the conversation keeps going.
We launch tomorrow and we'd really love to hear from you:
Gesture or button, what would you trust in a real conversation?
Where would you actually use this? Travel, a doctor's appointment, work, a date?
What's your most awkward "we don't speak the same language" moment?
If you travel, work with newcomers or date across languages, we'd love you to try it via TestFlight, Bascule+ included, with no real charges. Tell us anything, even if you think it's a bad idea. We'll reply to everyone.
