We launched Metropolix on Product Hunt yesterday, and thought I'd share how the first 24 hours went and what we've been doing so far.
Metropolix is an interactive digital world for startups, where each business gets its own branded building and profile. I'm building it as a solo developer, with inputs and suggestions from the Startup Fortune team.
In the first 24 hours, around 2,000 people explored the platform and we've had 5 startups come on board. We're still in beta, so it's early days, but it's been encouraging to see people checking it out and showing interest.
Product Hunt is where a lot of us first meet each other s work, and I love how many different ideas show up here every day. We ve been building Metropolix, an explorable digital city where each startup gets its own building with a public profile inside. I m one of the makers, so I m biased, but I d really like to hear from people here.
The question we keep coming back to is this: if your startup were a building, what would it look like? Would it be a small corner shop, a workshop, a skyscraper, or something nobody has a word for yet? And what would a stranger learn about your company just by walking past it?
I d like to know what would make you stop and go inside a startup s building. Tell me if this kind of discovery sounds useful or like a gimmick, since either answer helps us decide what to build next.
Metropolix turns startup discovery into an interactive experience. Startups get their own branded buildings and public profiles in an explorable digital world, with opportunities to showcase their products and connect with other founders. Built by Startup Fortune, Metropolix also offers dedicated startup placement and branding features through its established platform. It's a new way for startups to build their presence and get discovered.
