Hi PH community, I’m Swarnadeep Debnath, excited to share MirrorInterview with the Product Hunt community. The idea came from a simple problem I noticed while talking to friends and classmates preparing for interviews. Most people prepare by reading questions, watching YouTube videos, or going through long interview prep courses. But when the real interview starts, things feel very different. There’s pressure, time limits, follow-up questions, and the challenge of explaining ideas clearly on the spot. I realised that most preparation methods are passive. They help you understand questions, but they don’t help you actually practice answering them in a realistic environment. That’s what inspired me to build MirrorInterview. The goal was to create a simple tool where anyone could simulate a real interview quickly. Instead of reading questions, you interact with an AI hiring manager that asks questions, follows up on your answers, and creates a conversation similar to an actual interview. Each response is timed so you can practice thinking and speaking under realistic conditions. We also wanted the experience to be quick and accessible. You can start without signing up, upload your resume or job description, choose the interview type, and begin practising right away. A huge credit goes to Suman Das ( MAKER ) , who did an excellent job handling the coding and bringing the product to life. His work made it possible to turn this idea into a working product. MirrorInterview is still early, and this launch is mainly about learning from the community. I would genuinely love your feedback. -> What features would make this more useful for you? -> What kind of interview practice do you struggle with the most? -> Anything that felt confusing or could be improved? Thanks for checking it out and supporting the launch 🙏

Having sat on the other side of hundreds of interviews, I saw two extremes — candidates who came completely unprepared and wasted everyone's time, and those who over-prepared and sounded robotic. The sweet spot in between is hard to hit. Does the feedback cover how natural the answers sound, not just whether the content is correct?

@klara_minarikova Great point , and that’s actually one of the problems MirrorInterview tries to solve.

Because the AI interviewer asks follow-up questions (why, how, what next), it becomes difficult to rely on memorized answers. The conversation pushes candidates to explain their thinking naturally.

The feedback also looks at clarity, structure, and communication style, not just correctness. The goal is to help candidates stay prepared but still sound natural in real interviews.

That's a great idea! Congratulations on the launch! 🚀 I had some problems with it. For example, when I answered the third question, the AI said it was the last one and finished the assessment. I'm not sure if it was a mic problem, but after I answered all three questions, the feedback was:

"The candidate did not provide any responses to the interview questions, making it impossible to assess their qualifications or suitability for the role. This lack of engagement suggests a disinterest in the interview process."

It could be a problem with my mic. I'll test it later again

Thanks for trying it out and for the detailed feedback really appreciate it! 🙌

It’s likely that the system didn’t capture the audio correctly, which can happen if the browser doesn’t get full microphone access or if the audio input isn’t detected during the session. That’s why the feedback showed no responses.

We’re actively improving the audio capture and detection to make the experience more reliable. If you try it again, please make sure the browser has microphone permission enabled.

Really grateful you took the time to test it feedback like this helps us improve MirrorInterview quickly. Let me know if the issue happens again after retrying! 🚀
