I wanted to bridge the gap between complex accounting software and overly simplified personal finance apps. Many people want the precision of professional accounting without the steep learning curve, so I built Money Manager to bring that balance to mobile users.
Traditional apps often leave "ghost money" in the system because they don't track the flow between accounts accurately. By implementing Double-Entry Bookkeeping, I’m solving the problem of data inconsistency, ensuring that every expense and income is perfectly balanced across wallets, banks, and cards.
Initially, I focused purely on the core accounting engine. However, during development and testing, I realized that user friction was the biggest enemy of consistent logging. My approach evolved from "feature-heavy" to "workflow-first," optimizing the UI to ensure that entering a double-entry transaction is as fast and intuitive as a simple list entry.
