What's new in Monitrova: a full website scan, daily security checks and much faster down alerts

Hi everyone

We've shipped a lot to Monitrova over the last few weeks, so here's a roundup in one place.

Full website scan
One scan covering uptime, SSL, DNS, email security, headers, performance and WordPress. You get a 0 to 100 score and a grade, and your top findings for free with no signup. Create an account to see every finding with instructions for fixing it.

Daily security checks
Every site you monitor is now checked daily for exposed files (like a public .env), weak TLS settings, broken SPF/DMARC/MTA-STS records, dangling DNS records and known WordPress plugin and theme vulnerabilities. Serious problems send an alert. Smaller ones show up as tasks in your daily to-do list.

Down alerts in about a minute, on every plan
When a check fails, the site switches to one-minute rechecks until it's back. On the Free plan, the first "down" email used to arrive about an hour after an outage started. Now the outage is confirmed in about a minute.

Fewer false alarms

  • A Cloudflare bot challenge is no longer reported as "down"

  • Sites that block our checker no longer trigger false SSL alerts

  • An SSL certificate missing its intermediate certificates is repaired automatically during the check instead of being reported as down

  • "Up but broken" pages are now caught: suspended hosting, parked domains and default server pages

Free tools that go deeper (still no signup)
WordPress vulnerability detection, exposed-file checks, DKIM, MTA-STS, CAA and dangling-CNAME checks, TLS versions and key strength, real-user Core Web Vitals, and CDN/WAF detection. Run the same site again and the result tells you what changed since the last check.

Alerts you can control
Maintenance windows, quiet hours, a cooldown per incident and signed webhooks.

Easier to get started
Signup takes two fields. There's a light mode, a 7-day free trial on paid plans, annual billing with 2 months free, and the whole app is available in English and Spanish.

You can try any of the tools for free at https://monitrova.com/tools

A question for you: what's the one thing your current monitor gets wrong, or never checks? We're deciding what to build next, and replies here go straight onto the list.

Monitrova: Website Monitoring That Tells You What Actually Went Wrong

I ve been quietly building Monitrova, and it has grown into something much bigger than a basic uptime monitor.

The idea is simple: know when something is wrong with a website before your client calls you.

Monitrova now watches more than whether a server returns HTTP 200.

It monitors:

Share your uptime without sharing your login

Monitrova now has an opt-in public status page. Turn it on from your account settings and you get a private link you can send to a client, a team, or anyone who keeps asking whether the site is up.

One link, no login. Shows 30-day uptime, which sites are up, anything down right now, and open incidents. Whoever you send it to just opens it.

You control the link. Rotate it to invalidate the old one, or switch the page off entirely and it stops resolving. Off by default.

Nothing private leaks. The page shows friendly site names and uptime numbers only. No URLs, no alert addresses, no request details. It's set to noindex, so it won't turn up in search.

A clearer home page — plus an instant uptime check

We rebuilt the Monitrova home page to be faster to read and easier to act on: check any site s uptime right from the top of the page, see at a glance what you get and who it s for, and find all the free tools in one place.

  • Check any site instantly from the homepage. Type a URL at the top of the page and get a live uptime result status, response time and HTTP code without signing up.

  • See who it s for (and who it isn t). A new honest-fit section and a one tool instead of four value summary make it clear whether Monitrova is the right fit for you.

  • All the free tools, front and centre. The full set of no-signup checkers now has its own section on the homepage, not just a menu link.

  • A cleaner, faster-to-scan page. Reworked sections and clearer navigation, plus a live numbers strip showing checks run, incidents caught and sites monitored.

Monitrova now verifies downtime, SEO and SSL checks from a second location

Today I shipped three Monitrova updates focused on one thing: making website monitoring more accurate and less noisy.

Monitrova is a website monitoring tool built for freelancers, small agencies, developers, and anyone managing client websites. It monitors uptime, SSL, homepage health, and WordPress changes through the Monitrova Site Agent.

Today also proved why that matters. Monitrova caught unusual changes on two WordPress websites I monitor through SourceCode. After checking them properly, both had been compromised. Because the changes were flagged quickly, I was able to investigate, contact the site owners, and secure the websites before the issue became worse.

The updates shipped today are all about reducing false alerts and improving trust in the checks.

Monitrova: website monitoring built to be useful, not noisy

Hi everyone,

A quick update on Monitrova, the website monitoring tool I've been building for freelancers, developers, small agencies, and anyone looking after client websites.

Since the soft launch, quite a bit has changed. I wanted to share what's new and where things are heading, without dressing it up more than it deserves.

A cleaner dashboard
