What feature should I build next for OptiClear? 🛠️ You decide!

Hi Product Hunt community! 👋

OptiClear is officially live, and while the current cleanup tools are saving tons of GBs, I’m already looking at the roadmap for the next big update. I want to build what you actually need.

Which of these features would make your Mac life easier?

1️⃣ Duplicate Finder: Find and remove those annoying identical files & photos.
2️⃣ Uninstaller Improvements: A more powerful way to wipe every trace of deleted apps.
3️⃣ Cloud Storage Cleaner: Scanning and managing large files in iCloud/Google Drive.
4️⃣ Performance Monitor: A real-time dashboard for RAM and CPU health.

Or is there something else you’ve always wanted in a Mac utility? 🕵️‍♂️

Drop a comment with your vote or share your wildest feature ideas. I'll be reading every single one and building the most requested ones!

Let’s make OptiClear the ultimate Mac companion together. 🚀

Duplicate finder feels like the obvious win, especially for immediate value.

But if I think a bit longer term, cloud storage cleaner sounds more interesting — mainly because that’s where things get messy without people realizing it.

Local clutter is visible. Cloud clutter isn’t.

One thing I’ve personally struggled with is not just finding duplicates, but understanding:
👉 what’s actually safe to delete vs what might still be needed somewhere

So maybe a mix of:
– duplicate detection
– + some kind of “confidence layer” before deleting could be really powerful.

Are you thinking more about quick wins right now, or building something people rely on long-term?

@hardikgohil79 Thanks for the deep dive, Hardik! 🎯 You hit the nail on the head regarding 'Cloud Clutter'—it’s out of sight, out of mind, but it’s costing people monthly subscription fees without them realizing it.

I really love your point about the 'confidence layer'. When building OptiClear, my goal was to avoid the 'scary' delete button. Adding a layer that explains why a file is safe to remove is a brilliant idea to build long-term trust.

To answer your question: I’m aiming for a mix. I want to deliver a Duplicate Finder soon as a quick win, but the long-term vision is to make OptiClear a tool that proactively manages 'unseen' clutter across local and cloud environments.

Which one do you personally find more annoying: 50GB of mystery 'System Data' or a full iCloud storage alert?

Hardik Gohil

@orhan_kilic That makes a lot of sense — especially the “scary delete button” part 😄

For me, the iCloud storage alert is more frustrating — mainly because it shows up after things are already messy, but doesn’t really help understand what caused it.

System data is annoying too, but at least it feels somewhat contained.

With cloud, it’s more like:
👉 “something is wrong” without clarity on what exactly

That’s why the confidence layer idea feels important — not just for safety, but for explaining what’s going on in a way that builds trust over time.

Have you thought about showing “why this happened” alongside cleanup suggestions?

Feels like that could make the tool even more useful.

Orhan Kilic

@hardikgohil79 That's a powerful suggestion. Showing the 'root cause' instead of just a 'delete' button would definitely turn OptiClear into an educational tool as well.

I’m actually looking into a 'Smart Insights' panel that explains things like: 'This app is creating 2GB of logs every week.' It would definitely reduce that 'cloud anxiety' you mentioned! Thanks for pushing the vision further!

@orhan_kilic I'm more than happy to contribute and provide some value to your product.

Personally, I’m leaning towards Duplicate Finder because my own Downloads folder is a mess of identical PDFs! 😂 But I’m really curious to see if there's a bigger demand for something else, like the Cloud Storage Cleaner.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! I'll make sure to prioritize the most voted one for the next release. 🚀

Love this approach — letting users vote is always a good signal.

Based on what’s already working in this space, most Mac cleaner tools that win tend to combine duplicate finder + uninstaller + performance insights in one flow

If I had to pick one next feature:

Cloud Storage Cleaner feels the most interesting.
Local cleanup is already crowded, but cross-cloud cleanup is still messy and underbuilt.

Duplicate finder is expected.
Uninstaller improvements are useful.
But cloud cleanup could actually differentiate you.

Also worth thinking: which feature creates a “wow” moment in 30 seconds? That usually wins.

Orhan Kilic

@alpertayfurr Great to see you here, Alper! 👋 You hit a very important point: differentiation. The 'local cleanup' market is indeed crowded, but managing that 'wow moment' across clouds is a challenge I'd love to tackle.

A 'wow moment' in 30 seconds... that's exactly the bar I'm setting for OptiClear. I'm taking notes on the Cloud Storage idea—it seems to be the dark horse here! Thanks for the boost! 🚀
