PDF Craft update: translation and bilingual EPUBs
When we last shared PDF Craft here, we focused on turning scanned PDFs into EPUBs and Markdown. Here’s a closer look at translation and bilingual reading in PDF Craft.
You can translate PDFs and EPUBs, and choose a bilingual EPUB when you want to keep the original text. Each original passage is followed by its translation, so you can check a difficult paragraph without finding the same spot in a separate file.
A few practical details:
Bilingual or translation-only: keep both languages for comparison, or choose just the translation for uninterrupted reading.
Names and terminology: add instructions before translating—for example, “Keep character names in English.” These guide the translation, so it’s still worth checking important passages.
Read in your own reader: download the EPUB and open it in a compatible reading app. You don’t need the PDF Craft desktop app.
You can use it online at pdfcraft.ai. The conversion and EPUB translation libraries are open source: PDF Craft and EPUB Translator.
If you read books in another language, when do you most want the original nearby—for learning the language, checking technical terms, or understanding a tricky passage?
