PoemCam turns your photos into short poetic images.
Take a picture, and a verse appears that matches the mood — gentle, quiet, or nostalgic.
No account, no payment.
Just capture how it feels, not only how it looks.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I’m Shoji from Tokyo.
I wanted to make a camera that doesn’t just record what’s in front of us,
but expresses how each moment feels.
PoemCam automatically creates short poetic lines that match your photo’s mood.
It’s completely free, simple, and calm to use.
Would love to hear your impressions and see your poetic captures 🌿
@busmark_w_nika Thank you, Nika 🌿 That’s a wonderful idea! I’m on Instagram too, though not many people know PoemCam there yet. I’d be really happy if more people on Instagram discovered it through their photos 📸✨
It’s mostly live views from Tokyo and classic paintings streamed from the Met. I once posted a small demo of PoemCam there, since both share the same quiet mood. ✨ I really appreciate your suggestion — maybe I’ll make a PoemCam page someday 🌸

This is so beautiful 😭 I love anything that mixes art with emotion, and as someone who’s obsessed with eerie, moody stuff, and sometimes very this feels like something I’d get lost in for hours.
Does PoemCam let users tweak or edit the generated verses, or is it completely automatic? @new_user_16607e277c
I'd be back with another review, currently downloading the app 😊😊
Someone said it'd be nice to have an account where you can be tagged and I couldn't agree more 😊😊
Congratulations @new_user_16607e277c

I believe that 10 years ago, you could have become a billionaire with that. 😉 Today? I can imagine it could go over well on social media ... capturing such spontaneous moments, especially if the texts are really good. Good luck.
@michael_kulla Thank you — I love that thought! 😊 Ten years ago it might have been about money, but today I just hope it helps people slow down a little, and find beauty in small, quiet moments. 🌿

@new_user_16607e277c It is nice to hear that money is not the priority, but rather the beautiful little, quiet moments. I once had to wait for the next train at the station due to a train cancellation, but in doing so, I was able to admire a wonderful sunrise.
@michael_kulla That’s such a beautiful story — and exactly the kind of moment PoemCam was created for. Sometimes the world slows us down just enough to let us see. Thank you for reminding me how beautiful those quiet pauses can be.

Hey Shoji, I tried using PoemCam as promised — it asked me to watch an ad if I didn’t want to wait 120 seconds for the poem, but even after waiting over 5 minutes, it just kept reloading with no result 🤷♀️ Maybe there’s a small bug somewhere?
When it finally did load, the poem came out in plain text. I kind of expected something more aesthetic, like a poetic font or that soft, girlie vibe that matches the emotion of the photo. It’s a lovely idea though, just feels like it could use a little more “mood” in the visuals too.
Congratulations @new_user_16607e277c

Do you have an Instagram? I think it would be great if people tag you, it could spread faster – you know, posts, reposts etc :)

I don’t have a dedicated Instagram for PoemCam —
but I occasionally share its moments on my art account, @sky_art_museum. https://www.instagram.com/sky_art_museum/
