Looks insane! Great job guys ❤️

@viktorhofte Thank you so much Viktor! That means a lot coming from you. Seriously, the metal button you designed for v1.run (Pontus shared a sneak peak) is probably amongst the craziest collection of pixels I've seen in decades

Wow, Polar v1.0 looks like a game-changer for indie devs and open source maintainers! 🚀 I'm loving the all-in-one approach to monetization - from donations to SaaS, you've got it all covered. The built-in benefits like license keys and Discord invites are a nice touch too. One suggestion though: have you considered adding a marketplace feature? It'd be cool to see a central hub where users can discover and support various projects. Maybe throw in some AI-powered recommendations to match devs with potential supporters? Also, while handling sales tax is great, how about some tools to help with budgeting and financial planning? Us devs aren't always the best with money (speaking from experience here 😅). Compared to platforms like Gumroad or Patreon, Polar seems more dev-focused, which is refreshing. But maybe you could borrow a leaf from their book and add some marketing tools? Help us introverted devs shout about our work without feeling awkward! Lastly, a bit of humor: with all these features, are you sure you're not trying to replace developers with AI after all? 😉 Kidding aside, keep up the great work! Can't wait to see how Polar evolves.

@nikhilpareek Incredible feedback! Re: Marketing tools. Completely agree, and yes. I'd say v1.0 was and continues to be all about laying the foundations to offer better funding and monetization tools for developers. But ahead of our v2 and beyond, I think a natural next chapter is going to be 1) learning from successful developers on Polar 2) launch marketing tools and automations for all developers based on those learnings. Re: Budget/finance. Yes, I think we'll do some lightweight lifting here, e.g setting goals, helping track towards those etc. However, full budgetting/finance is a product in its own right. I'd rather partner/integrate for the best possible user experience. For Polar to focus exclusively on being the best monetization platform for developers. Segway to... Re: Marketplace. Would love to integrate with ones, but don't believe in building one ourselves. At least not for the forseeable future. A marketplace is a completely different product & beast in its own right. Easy to lose focus building one. Better for us to really double down on being the best platform for developers. Find others seeking to be the best marketplace for them.

@haider_aftab Thank you Haider! Glad to hear you like the product and found it easy to use! No, we currently don't I'm afraid. I've gone ahead and created a GitHub discussion for this. Awesome work. Developers need easier ways to sell their work, and it's nice to see an OS alternative to Lemon Squeezy. Event better if it was integrated with Swell (https://www.swell.is) for physical goods. Keep it up!
Linus Ekenstam
This is so good, I can see myself using this even as a none coder. Really great. Well executed too.

@linusekenstam Thank you so much Linus! ♥️ Let me know next time you're back in snowy Stockholm - would be great to catch-up
