Excited to share our story and major update with you. 🌎 The Team Our team at Praktika has a global perspective and a mission to empower learners all around the world! With over 10 million users worldwide, we have been trusted by some of the biggest names in the industry, including Coca-Cola, Nestle, Merck, Electrolux, Red Bull, and many others. Now, we're excited to use our expertise in conversational AI solutions to build a next gen language learning and break down language barriers and provide new opportunities for everyone, regardless of their social status. 🤔 Story behind Praktika It all started in mid-2021, when we began to think about how we could use technology to make language learning more accessible for everyone. We started talking to people who were learning a foreign language every day, and we studied many reports to learn more about the challenges they faced. What we discovered shocked us: in many regions, 95% (‼️) of the population do NOT speak English simply because they can't afford to find a native speaker or tutor to practice with. But we refused to accept this as a reality - we believed that technology could be the key to changing it. 🚀 Product development: Beta launch We launched our beta in mid-2022 after a lot of hard work and testing. First version used pre-generated Synthesia avatars, our own mix of linear + nlp model for building role-plays. Users were able to interact with these avatars and role-play limited number of scenarios but these Avatars were rather linear. Despite the fact that this version was raw, the response was amazing! People got the general idea and they loved it even on a concept stage. With more than 40,000 users interacting with our first version every month - and some even paying for a monthly subscription - we knew we were on to something special. 🚀 Product development: Technological Shift Of course, we didn't stop there - we kept pushing to develop the next version of Praktika, based on our main hypotheses and user feedback. And by the end of 2022, we had created our first Unity Avatar that fully understood the user - a major breakthrough that put us at the forefront of products at the intersection of AI and Metaverse! And Now with the release of GPT-3.5-Turbo, we are now able to take our product to new heights, giving our users not only a native speaker avatar to talk to on 100+ topics, but also a complete personal online tutor with endless possibilities for studying within 1000+ lessons for each level: study theory, play educational games, practice, get feedback, recommendations on how to improve your language and much more. Anytime and anywhere. Affordably. 🌟What's next? I'm thrilled to announce that we're currently implementing GPT-4, which will take our language lessons to the next level. Not only will we be able to offer multilingual lessons for beginners, but we'll also be able to incorporate more immersive media content into our current lessons (e.g.: for discussing a picture in a foreign language together with the AI Avatar Tutor). And of course add more language pairs. But this is just another version for us. Our ultimate vision has always been to create an environment for immersive language learning, where you can learn English in the most effective, involved, and cost-optimal way possible. And we're already seeing this vision come to life faster than we ever imagined! As a startup on the edge of AI and the Metaverse, we're determined to be the first to provide an affordable opportunity for language learners to immerse themselves in a Metaverse environment with Smart Avatar Tutors and Native Speakers. And not only from a phone screen in the app, but in an interactive environment where you can interact directly with the Avatars as a Character and role-play interactive scenes in the Metaverse. It's pretty awesome! I think using ChatGPT to learn a new language is a huge leap forward from traditional methods.
