What's the worst piece of feedback you've ever received that turned into your best feature?
We've all been there.
A user submits feedback that makes you roll your eyes. Maybe it sounds unreasonable, or oddly specific, or feels like too much efforts. You almost ignore it — and then something clicks.
I'll go first.
Someone wished ResumeUp.AI had a ChatGPT-like conversation for building resumes. We thought — weird ask, we're not a chatbot and effort-wise it's tough to interact with the resume in real-time with a chat.
Then three more users said variations of the same thing over the next two weeks. That feedback/feature request completely changed how we think about the resume building experience.
The feedback wasn't wrong. Our interpretation of it was.
And honestly? We would've missed it entirely if we hadn't seen it show up again and again.
Your turn:
What was the feedback?
Why did you almost ignore it?
What did it actually lead to?
