Hey, it’s been a while since we’ve made updates to mobile. Today we’re releasing a new member to the Product Hunt app family – an Android app. The app was rewritten and designed for simplicity and speed to make it easier to stay up-to-date on the day’s new product launches. We hope you enjoy it and please add your feedback and feature ideas here. Also if you’d like early access to new builds, subscribe to our Ship page - https://www.producthunt.com/upco... 😸

@devladinci any plans for iPhone X? 😬
Nick Abouzeid
@devladinci @prokotasic It's optimized for iPhone X! -Sent from iPhone X

@devladinci Android onboarding still has a typo, "friedly" instead of "friendly"
Nathaniel Chen
@devladinci Also, still showing the wrong cards when clicked (Android, Google Pixel)

@banada Ah I know, this is an issue with ReactNative's flat list.
Ameer Ahmed
I have been testing this app for some time now. Its 🔥. Only thing missing is night mode.
Ryan Hoover
@ameerahmed oooh, neat idea. 🌚
Vlado
@ameerahmed Will be added! Love the idea!
Chris Herbert
Is there no way to add products to our saved lists via the mobile app? Can't seem to find it.
Ryan Hoover
@hrbrt not yet but this is one of the things we want to add asap as many use the mobile app to "bookmark" things they want to check out later, sometimes on their desktop.
Chris Herbert
@rrhoover Thanks. I tried submitting this via the TestFlight email but it told me the address you folks supply in the app doesn't exist.
Ryan Hoover
@hrbrt uh-oh! Can you please confirm which email you tried to email?
Chris Herbert
Vlado
@rrhoover @producthunt @hrbrt Oh my bad, will update it
Cheng Qian
What happened to lists?
Ryan Hoover
@chiancheng by lists do you mean collections? Unfortunately it didn't make it into this release but it's coming soon!
Ignacio Herreros
@rrhoover but you didn’t remove them, did you!!? The ability to save our favorite products in different collections is one of Product Hunt’s features. Please don’t undervalue it!
Chris Messina
@rrhoover this makes me sad. —signed sincerely, superuser
Abadesi
@iherreros You can still make collections via PH website 🙂
Brad Ungar
@iherreros agreed! I can’t live without my collections. So many products saved, actually my most regular use of PH.

I am waiting for the update when there will be feature to track, ask and respond to the question as in web version!

Pros:

Progressive.

Cons:

1. The social login still redirects to the browser for logging in.

2. No option to scroll to the top in one click.

Peter Pult
Are you on iOS? Than as always clicking on the status bar brings you to the top of a list. :)

Pretty good! I like the simplicity.Finally available on Android. But I'm kind of disappointed to see the Android version being released when it's still so unpolished :-(
Nick Abouzeid
@pluslucas_ Hey Lucas! Is there something specific you're having troubles with? cc @devladinci
Lucas
@nickabouzeid @devladinci hey Nick! I sent an email a while ago with a detailed list of things I would love to see ironed out in the Android app, but I never got an answer. Here's a quick list of some of the things that I noticed in the app: - Inconsistent icon styles - Unnecessary boxing around buttons - Not using the Material Design keylines (I think this is pretty important on Android) - Typing a comment while also scrolling through the comments is very buggy - Missing Adaptive Icon I would love to provide detailed feedback through email, if it would be used!
Ty Smith
@nickabouzeid @devladinci @pluslucas_ +1 to everything said here. Stands out awkwardly on the platform from a design and UX perspective.
Vlado
@nickabouzeid @pluslucas_ @tsmith I have them on my todo, Android is new area, so I was pretty sure that first-time won't be perfect :) About adaptive icon, @chad can help here :)

Mhm, I'm seeing version 1.0.20 on Android 😕. Latest update was on February 20...
Arun
@alainpascalr They are called it "Product Hunt 4.0" to match the web version, I guess. I can confirm the latest version on Android is 1.0.20 too.
Mahesh Shrestha
@alainpascalr yeah, seems like that's the latest version!
Nick Abouzeid
@alainpascalr @traveler Might be taking some time to propagate. Looking into it!
Arun
@alainpascalr @traveler @nickabouzeid Latest update is 1.0.20, right?
Alain Pascal
@arunsathiya yes. That's what I have.

Congrats @devladinci ·@rrhoover @chadwhitaker on the new version + new addition to the app family! I've been testing the new app for a week or so (via the PH Mobile Ship page 👉 go subscribe https://www.producthunt.com/upco...). So much quicker + can do more! Yay!
Ryan Hoover
@gadgick appreciate your support!

Pocket friendly app that help you keep updated with what's trending around.

I'm building a app too. This app would help SMB and Small startups to convert their existing Wordpress Website into Mobile App.

Here is the link to early access. https://goo.gl/forms/2Xb1Nti8HI4...

Pros:

A good app to have

Cons:

Not really

Arun
Thank you for making this app! I have been using it on my Android since a few weeks, and I absolutely love the design! The wait was worth it. 😻
Vlado
@arunsathiya Thank you! 🙌
