Which topics discussed on Product Hunt spark your attention the most?

Do you notice which topics discussed on this platform make you think, and you like to contribute your 2 cents?

I don't mean that you generate an AI answer for the topic, but that you enjoy discussing the topic like a real person.

– For me personally, these are topics where someone asks for advice.

– Of course, I like contributing my own experience in marketing.

– I participate less often in product topics because I don't always have experience with a particular product. This does not apply to giving feedback (e.g. feedback is a request for help, and it is assumed that you are going to try the product).

I would like to find out which topics you like to talk about the most, so that in the future we can also focus on categories where you are more involved. 🙂

Topics around support for others, giving honest feedback, producthunt launch experience, lessons and wins, AI, Marketing, Computer Science.

Any other topic that resonate with me Nika

Nika

@martina_chioma_ngwuta PH experiences are the most on demand on this platform. Maybe I should give more space to that one :D

Nika, that's a fantastic question!

I love reading those “behind the scenes” posts 🛠️:

Something like “How we got our first 100 users (the real, unglamorous version).”

Or “We screwed up our A/B testing and learned our lesson the hard way.”

I like these because they are very actionable and learnable.:)

Nika

@partick_support Good point – TBH, I love these too but I am less active under those because I more "consume" than participate (the exception is when I want to add some good tip to make the post even better and insightful) :)

I’m usually drawn to topics where someone’s asking for honest feedback or advice, those feel the most human and fun to join. I enjoy talking about launch strategies, growth experiments, and solo founder mindset stuff. Also, where I can share my experiences too :)

Nika

@hamza_afzal_butt TBH, I haven't seen so much convo from solo founders here. 🥲

@busmark_w_nika in dm conversations (a topic too:)

Great question! I find myself most drawn to posts where people are sharing real challenges—whether it's about marketing, launching something new, or growing their audience. I love swapping ideas and offering advice from my own journey. Also really enjoy giving feedback on early-stage products—it feels collaborative and helpful :)

QIQI

And I’m always willing to try new products that can genuinely solve problems!

Nika

@qiwap Which categories of products are your favourite? Maybe I could send makers to you :D

QIQI

@busmark_w_nika SEO tools, AI related products etc.

Nika

@qiwap I had an article about AI SEO btw in my newsletter. 👀 Maybe that one would be interesting for you! 🙏

Personally I value the most topics around launching as a whole. And timing. Like what to post on X, Reddit, other communities and when to post it. For example on the launch day etc.

So I personally value tactics the most. Anything around tactics.

Nika

@heypaus I think that in the future, I can cover some of these. Indeed, I specifically create some topics dedicated to the Product Hunt and successful acquiring it :)

Paul Sobiecki

@busmark_w_nika Thank you, that would be soo awesome :)

I have a preference for finding new inspiration to develop a new product.

People are discussing real dilemmas they've encountered and looking for a solution. I think this is where the next breakout product will come from!

Adam Martelletti

I’m usually up for jumping into anything where I can be helpful, especially if it’s in my area or someone’s looking for honest feedback.

That tends to be around growth, first-time user experience and onboarding, or the messy shift from self-serve SaaS to technical enterprise sales and partnerships.

A bit of a mix between product, GTM, and a technical background. If someone’s building and asking real questions, I’m happy to add my 2 cents.

Nika

@adam_martelletti It seems that discussions are here more about business + marketing and launching products more for devs :D

Adam Martelletti

@busmark_w_nika  100%! And fair point, that line about the ‘messy shift’ probably made it sound like I’m deep in enterprise land 😅

I’ve mostly been on the small startup side, just called out those topics because they’ve been my most recent (and soul-destroying) roles haha.

Nika

@adam_martelletti Hopefully, these convos are not so DEVastating lol :D

Adam Martelletti

@busmark_w_nika Haha not at all.

Martin Rue

I really enjoy anything where founders / teams are more human and tell stories of what they're working on, their experiences on this journey, and any BTS stuff.

Nika

@martin_rue True, I am searching for something "new" that is not replicated on the internet 1345 times.

Nino Gorgiashvili

I am attracted to conversations where someone’s sharing hard-earned lessons around building products. Especially ones having a deeper WHY behind what they create. The product itself is interesting, but I get more excited when someone talks about the mission, the pain that sparked the idea, or the impact they hope it makes. That’s when I want to jump in and support however I can 😍

Nika

@ngorgiashvili Thanks for sharing. :)

Kaustubh Katdare

Founders and product makers looking for advice. That's where I can help the most.

Nika

@thebigk I am noticing you, and I am pretty sure other users of this platform, too. So far, you have contributed many interesting thoughts. I appreciate that! :)

Kaustubh Katdare

@busmark_w_nika Thank you, Nika. Just trying to give back to the community that helped me. I see founders make the same mistakes I did; and I try to be helpful.

Nika

@thebigk Greatful for that! :)
