Hybrid work: less "feeling," more rhythm needed?
Hybrid teams don't lack motivation. They sometimes miss signals.
In the office, you often "feel" how things are going more quickly. You see energy, irritation, connection. In hybrid work, that information is more diffuse. And that's precisely why misunderstandings sometimes arise: someone is quieter → "probably busy," while it's actually stress. Or someone is still delivering, but is slowly burning out.
What HR/People Ops often tells me is that it's not that people don't want to share — but the moment you notice comes later. And then it's harder to adjust.
What helps in a hybrid context is a small rhythm that doesn't feel heavy:
• short, regular
• safe (no controlling vibe)
• and usable (it leads to a conversation or micro-action)
My question to you:
Which routine helps you most to stay in touch with teams?
A) 1-on-1s (manager)
B) Team retrospectives / regular reflections in meetings
C) Pulse check-ins
D) Something else (I'd love to hear from you)
I'm building Pulseboard as such a rhythm: not as an additional system, but as a measurement tool that fits into the flow.
