Crop, remove, or reshoot? Handling distractions in a product video
I'm on the remover.work team. Before removing an unwanted object from a product video, it helps to decide whether cleanup is actually the best edit.
If the distraction sits near the edge, a crop may be enough—as long as the product and important details still fit. If it crosses the product, covers a hand, or moves through a reflection, check the result in motion rather than judging one clean frame. Sometimes a short reshoot is the simpler option.
remover.work offers video object removal. For footage you own, compare the cleaned version with the original and watch for flickering texture, soft edges, or changes to details you wanted to keep before using it in your final edit.
What usually makes you choose a reshoot over cleanup: camera movement, reflections, or an object overlapping the subject?
