Should brands measure AI visibility separately across platforms?
A brand might appear regularly in ChatGPT recommendations while showing up less frequently in Gemini, Perplexity, or Google AI Mode.
Each platform uses its own retrieval systems, available sources, and methods for generating answers. As a result, the same question can produce different brand recommendations depending on where someone asks it.
For example, a B2B software company might appear among the top recommendations in ChatGPT while a competitor receives more mentions in Perplexity.
A combined AI visibility score summarizes overall presence, but platform-specific reporting helps identify where each brand is being recommended.
Tracking mentions, citations, and share of voice separately across platforms also helps teams understand which competitors are consistently appearing in their category.
Are you measuring AI search visibility separately for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode? Or are you using one combined score across platforms?

On each platform I'd separate prompts that name the brand from prompts that only describe the buyer's task. Being described accurately when someone asks about your company is different from being recommended to a freelancer looking for invoicing software.
Do not know whether brands should do, but I would welcome to have an overview what worked the best.
