Hi, I'm Casper, founder of Rool. Ask us anything.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Casper, founder of Rool. We're a small team spread across Europe.

Rool is built on one idea: if you hand an AI your real work, that work should live somewhere that's yours.

So every user gets their own Rool Machine, a private Linux computer in the cloud with the AI running inside it. Your files, chats and memory stay there, walled off from everyone else. It remembers last week's work, runs real programs, takes on multi-step tasks, and you can invite your team into the same machine, on web, iPhone and Android.

What we decided early on:

- Your data lives in Finland, under Irish and EU law

- Never used to train AI

- No ads. No data sales. No cookies or tracking pixels on

- Our own AI models, on our own servers

- Export your data at any time

Free forever: no card, two machines with 1 GB each, credits that refill every hour.

If you've tried Rool, tell us what you use your machine for. If you haven't, ask us anything. We're here all day.

Hi, I've used Rool so far for things from building my own baby inference engine to learn how the inference process really works, to a simple AI product comparison analysis, to helping me create weird and wonderful homelab remote access solutions.

My mini inference engine was trained and runs in my Rool machine and actually produces answers to questions.

It's trained on a few sentences, repeated multiple times, about ducks living on a pond, so of course all its answers are duck-based, which I think mainstream LLMs could benefit from.

Rool is unique: a perfect balance of power and simplicity. Highly recommended!

P.S. I don't know Casper but emailed him out of the blue and he took the time to reply to me personally (he assured me he's human!). This is the way to build and run a startup.

Hi Philip. Thank you! And yes, I'm human :-) and until now I have been able to keep up with my inbox. It's invaluable for me to communicate with our actual users.

And ... just wow. Training model inside a Rool machine - thats the first time I heard that, but it makes a lot of sense to protoype and learn about it there. Perhaps we should add a tiny slice of GPU to the Machines for such purposes
