How do you keep investor replies from dying in your inbox?

by

On Round Funded the investor CRM is where replies go so they do not die in a Gmail tab.

A raise dies in the inbox. Someone says send the deck. You send it. Then the thread sits under a newsletter, you forget the follow-up, and two weeks later you are reconstructing the raise from memory.

What I do instead:

1. One row per investor, not one email thread

2. Status: sent, opened, replied, meeting, passed

3. A date for the next ping, not follow up sometime

4. The last thing they actually said, copied, so the next email is not a blast

If a reply has nowhere to live except your inbox, it is already lost.
