How do you write a first email to an angel without sounding like a blast?

A first email that sounds like a blast dies in the archive. Angels can smell a 400-person send. The email has to prove you know why them, not why you.

What I send:

1. One line on why this angel: a recent check in your sector, not "I admire your portfolio"

2. What you do in one sentence a stranger can repeat

3. The ask: a 15-minute yes or no, not "would love to pick your brain"

4. One proof: revenue, waitlist, or a customer they would recognize

Skip the 800-word origin story. Skip attaching the deck in email one. If they cannot tell in four lines that this is their stage and sector, they will not open email two.

Matching is picking who gets that email so it is not a blast.
