What do investors actually ask on the first call?

by

On Round Funded the first-call question list is what we prep against before a founder walks into the room.

The first investor call is not a pitch. It is a filter. They already skimmed the deck. Now they want to see if you break under a few questions.

What they actually ask:

1. Why now, not why the market is big

2. Who already paid or waited, not TAM

3. How this check gets used in 12 months

4. What happens if the raise takes twice as long

5. Why you, not a feature list

If you cannot answer those in plain English, the rest of the call is theater. Write the answers before the call, then talk like a human.
