Hey there, Product Hunt!
Meet Rubicons! A unique growing set of sharp minimal icons for any interface.
Being a fan of Feather Icons myself & adopting them in many projects over quite some time, I noticed I wasnβt seeing much additions to the library. This inspired me to create a new library with some slight differences that I havenβt come across much.
π‘ The Design Approach β
Most icon sets seem to have a lot of similarities with their approach to the designs. Iβm talking about most sets having rounded line-joins / corners and a more soft style. Which I do love. However, it was rare that I found really nice sets that were sharp or mixed in a creative style.
This is where Rubicons is different & works in a nice way. I approached drawing the icons with a rule set that uses sharp / straight corners, rounded line caps, rounded points & dotted paths in place of fills or contrast. I felt this approach made the set feel sharp but still fun & great for interfaces. Each icon is designed on a 24x24 pixel grid using a centered 2px stroke width.
π Future Plans β
I am currently working on releasing a solid version & possibly a duotone set in a few different formats such as Figma, Ai, Sketch & most likely a web font as well. This of course will include the line icon style you already have access to.
I will continue to add more icons consistently. If you would like to contribute to Rubicons, feel free to message me on Twitter. I appreciate & welcome any feedback. I hope you dig them and thank you for checking them out!
