130% better than DeepL? How do you back up these claims? I don’t see any studies or statistics.
Annie Liu
@umberto_abbatantuono Yeah, the 130% improvement figure is based on internal benchmarking using industry-standard(MQM) metrics💪🏻
Umberto
@xiaoyi_liu1 benchmarking with which languages? Topic? Text length? I have been using DeepL with great satisfaction, and I need to see some concrete proof instead of just a number.
Annie Liu
@umberto_abbatantuono We selected texts of around 5,000 words from novels, blogs, scripts, and other content (novels were a bit longer). Since our team includes a linguist fluent in four languages, our initial testing was based on four languages: Chinese, Spanish, English, and French.

Congrats on the launch! I was a heavy user of translating tools. But I always feel that they cannot translate my content to the native level of my target languages. With SagaLabs, I would be able to cut my budget on hiring translators or hiring new writers to create new content. Wonderful! Can't wait to try how it works!

DeepL's performance is indeed mediocre, but ChatGPT is already quite good. How does SagaLabs compare to ChatGPT?

@bonvisions Great question! While ChatGPT excels at broader translation works, we focuses on more-contextualized translations, especially for stories(web novels, etc). Our goal is to empower creators with precise translations that capture the tone and style of the original text, making it easier for their works to resonate with a global audience. 😊

Congratulations on the launch 🎉 Would love to try it. I've tried translating a Gujarati Story into English in the past but the result is always sub par. It doesn't convey the same emotions as the original language for many obvious reasons.
Annie Liu
@ashitvora Hah, feel free to give it a try~ and you can also share it with our community so more people can experience it (if you like). And If you run into any bugs along the way, feel free to let us know anytime.

Bravo! I've tested the Chinese translation and found that when I omitted some logical connectors like 'then' and 'because,' I could still get the right translation I want. This was a big surprise, as the translation tools I used before often gave me headaches with sentence segmentation. Congratulations!

@user_greatlouis Thanks for your support! We'll keep pushing forward and improving!

Congratulations @victorzh to the team on the launch! This AI-powered translation tool seems incredibly useful for creators aiming to reach a global audience. Translating into 200+ languages with native-expert quality is impressive. However, does it also handle cultural nuances effectively? Excited to see how it transforms storytelling!
Annie Liu
@victorzh @jai_singhal Thanks! Yes, we strive to simulate and reinforce the human translation process to ensure that more details are well-preserved, such as tone, style, idioms, slang, and key events from the original text.

Out of curiosity, how do you measure that your are 130% better than deepl?
