This looks great. Can you explain what, if any data you're collecting from my gmail messages and/or contacts? Thanks
Jeroen Corthout β˜•
@tlazay Hi Tom! Signature looks for email signatures in your Gmail inbox. In these signatures it detects phone numbers, addresses, positions/roles, company names, social profile URLs, and of course email addresses and names. It then adds this info to your Google Contacts to enrich them, fully automatically. In Signature you can see what's updated and undo in case you don't like some update. If you get 3 friends to sign up, Signature will not only import signatures for your new emails, but also go a full year back to update everything.

@jeroen_corthout Thanks for explanation- I meant to ask the question from a privacy and data protection perspective so I'm wondering (1) whether or not your servers keep copies of any message content or contact info after the contact record is created (e.g- if you get hacked, is my email content or contact list at risk of getting exposed) and (2) whether or not your business model includes selling any kind of analytics to 3rd parties based on my mail habits or the text in my gmail content. Thanks!

@ryan_walker2 Hey Ryan! Google keeps asking us more info for verification. We keep providing. It's a pain but we'll send you an email when it's all done!
Jeroen Corthout β˜•
@tlazay Got it! (1) No, we don't keep anything on our servers. We just pick up data from Gmail, process it, and then save the data in Google Contacts. Nothing remains with us. We only need to keep a connection with Google going. (2) Nope. This is only meant to attract more eyeballs to Salesflare itself. At Salesflare we provide a simple yet powerful CRM that automates your customer data so that you can build better relationships and make more sales. One of these features is auto-importing email signatures, which we spinned off here, 100% for free.

Nice idea.

Pros:

Seamless integration between the two

Cons:

Google will fix this natively, so this becomes obsolete.

what's better than improving a google product ?

Seems ingenious and surprising no one else has thought of it before. I've signed up but am a little confused as to how it all works. Cannot find information other than posts on here, but those don't help explain the product. Once signed up, 3 contacts appeared. Now what happens? Does it scan per email that comes in? Is it possible to go through all previous emails? If there is a page of sorts which explains more, please send me a link πŸ˜ƒ
