This drive sets a new standard -- 1 terrabyte in a tiny form factor that weighs next to nothing (and costs less than $500 on Amazon). It gives me zero excuse for not carrying a backup drive at all times.
The only thing I don't like about the T1 is the software installed on the drive -- it forces you to launch Windows or Mac OS to unlock the full storage (though it also gives you an option to require a password to unlock it when plugging into a computer). Even if you do what I did after unlocking the storage -- reformat the disk -- it leaves a Samsung daemon running on Mac and Windows, something I really dislike. I deleted it.
I did want security. So I created encrypted partitions using Ubuntu's Disks application.
Kudos to Samsung on this one. They'll have competition eventually, but this is way ahead of the game.
