SavorApp_AI - Capture what matters and move your intentions forward

by•
Savor is an Intention Layer™ for thoughts that never reach your to-do list. Speak, type, or snap a photo to create a clear card in Now, Soon, or Later. Reminders bring it back when it matters. Take Action (Beta) helps you explore options, build a plan or list, and draft words you can use. Review and adjust as you go. Hand off a card or a single step, with a private chat for context. You decide what happens next. Free on iOS and Android.

congrats, the team! why there is no streaks, points, badges, or productivity scores, feel it may be some lack of motivation to move through the tasks?

Thanks! And that's a great question. The absence of streaks, points, badges, and productivity scores is actually very intentional, and gets at something pretty fundamental to our philosophy.

We believe a person's most valuable resources are their time, attention, presence, and focus. And we want sAVoR to be a tool that helps them cultivate those things and direct them to the arenas where they want them. One user might get a lot of satisfaction from getting through a lot of tasks, but another user may view their tasks as endless and want to just prioritize the ones they find essential (so that they can spend more time on their passion: swimming or crocheting or whatever it is).

A lot of productivity apps are designed to encourage more engagement, more activity, and more boxes checked. But we don't believe that being more productive necessarily means living a better or more fulfilling life. Sometimes the most valuable thing you can do is absolutely nothing on your to-do list.

That's part of why we don't think of SAVOR as a task management app, but rather as an Intention Layer™. Our goal isn't to motivate people to complete more tasks for the sake of completing tasks. It's to help them stay connected to what genuinely matters to them, and to follow through on those intentions when the time is right.

Ultimately, we want people to use SAVOR just enough. If it helps you spend less time managing your life and more time actually living it, then we think we've succeeded.

Really appreciate you raising the question!

I wanted to address this too - As a mom, I don't know you've ever seen the docu "Screenagers" - Everything has been gamified and it's all-consuming, unrelenting, and it feels, at least to me, we are letting apps take our lives from us - maybe that's a bit over exaggerated (just a teeny bit), but that's how it feels. It was so important to me that we don't get lured into that co-erced, "volunteered", offering our time to something that really isn't real - real money to buy fake coins to buy fake things...

Savor is purposely not that - it aims to be not that. We wanted to help people continue with living their lives. Period. Full Stop.

Congrats, team! I like the concept, but I can't totally get how is this different from Apple Reminders or a regular to-do app?

Thanks Yana - We didn't start Savor trying to make money - we really did see a gap in what was available, and then asked ourselve: Are others also struggling like us? or is it just us? <Cringe>

There are just too many apps and places, that do so many things, but put together, just not the right tool. So we're making it! Always welcome to feedback - what is working, and more importantly, what isn't working...

Such a simple idea, but it makes sense. not everything needs a deadline.

Right~!? I'm right there with you.

We tried to make the UX as simple as possible. But for a feature like TakeAction, admittedly it's a bit less-simple - would love to hear your thoughts on that UX.

I have a question for any of you out there exploring our app for the first time today, one that those of us here at SAVOR have been curious about. What do you think of our onboarding experience?

We're aware that if it's too long people will skip it but then they may not know about some of SAVOR's more powerful features under the hood.

But if we make the onboarding shorter and quicker, then many of those more powerful features are still undiscovered.

We're super curious to hear the community's thoughts and opinions.

Handing off a single step instead of the whole card is a nice touch, since shared tasks tend to get vague. Once someone accepts a card, do they get its reminders right away?

Hey Neeraj! That's a great question. Yes it does! For a second, we thought you may have asked about something we missed, but we just checked it and yes, once you hand off a card to someone (or a subcard), then any reminders associated with it travel with it as well.

Chiming in - Incredibly helpful for managing my ADHD son! lol. I tell him, responding "Ok" on chat doesn't mean it's DONE. When the task/reminder is completed, he can swipe it. :P

swiping a card away once it is truly done is a neat way to tell it apart from a quick "ok" 😄 does your son get a reminder again if he never swipes it?

Since we're talking about my son, and the reminder we are talking about would be sitting in now ('cause he's a heavy procrastinator), the daily brief each morning would catch that. But as of now, we don't have recurring reminder on a single card/item - we will add that as a fast follow. Users can set a "due date" and a "reminder" and neither is a recurring nudge.

If I shared a card with him, I would see that it isn't done, and he'd get a reminder in form of the private chat feature on each card - which nudges the user.
