5 years ago my $15,000 arcade failed and last month i brought it back with astra and opus.

I'm bringing back something I shelved a couple years ago. My first-ever real-ass startup… an online arcade!!

I was 21 fresh out of uni, broke, and working as an accountant. I barely knew anything about coding, so I hired an agency to help build what I had in mind.

$15,000 later I learned Figma, how to code, found my way around AWS, worked with pixel artists and 3D artists, learned to QA, manage different personalities, kept everyone on schedule and on budget. I really learned what "scope" was lol

Like any founder all the hats & apparently none of them were the "get people to actually use this" hat 😅

Eventually I ran out of savings, had no one to keep building it with, AWS credits expired andddd the cherry on top no one playing soooooo I shut it down.

Then a few years later… Astra launched. I still had all my assets and all my code so what if I tried again with Astra? And tbh I've literally never had this much fun using AI.

I'm taking my old game assets and giving them a second life, trying ideas I couldn't pull off on my own back then because I was resource restrictive. I took the egg from my original game and started putting it into different games. Seeing those same eggs wobbling and falling over in Egg Stack genuinely made me laugh SO hard.

My little guys has been unemployed for years and now suddenly has a bunch of different jobs 😭

This time I'm focusing on the vision behind it more deeply. Games anyone can play, together, anywhere on any device and also this time I'm sharing it while I build and actually doing the marketing and sales too instead of disappearing into development until my savings disappear with me lol.

It's called EggVerse 🥚 You can play for free within the browser on any device, iOS app coming sooooon!!

Since I first posted about bringing it back on Reddit the site went from 0 to 134 game starts to 1,754 starts and people have now spent over 7 hours playing and it is still just me building it.

I'm planning to launch on Product Hunt on Tuesday October 27 sooo keep an eye out for the launch because it's going to include a custom Product Hunt skin limited edition and only around for the launch

I've got 2 asks for anyone still reading:

1. Play one game with a friend or by yourself and tell me how it felt

2. What did you hate?
