Building LIGNIQUE: a comic creation tool for stronger continuity

Hi everyone - I’m Jayadevan Premnath, a comic creator currently building LIGNIQUE Comic Studio.

LIGNIQUE is a comic-focused creation tool designed to solve one of the hardest problems in AI-assisted comic making: continuity across panels and pages.

Most workflows can generate a strong single image, but comics need much more than that. They need:

  • consistent characters

  • stable backgrounds

  • recurring props

  • controlled visual style across scenes

That is the problem I’m trying to address with LIGNIQUE.

The software is built around features like Character Lock, Style Lock, and an inbuilt Style Gallery, with the goal of helping creators move from isolated image outputs toward more controlled, readable, long-form visual storytelling.

LIGNIQUE runs through the OpenAI API as the engine behind the interface, while focusing the user experience specifically on comic creation and continuity control.

I’d really value feedback from this community:

  • Does this problem resonate with you?

  • Which continuity issue feels most painful right now?

  • What would make a tool like this genuinely useful in your workflow?

Happy to share more screenshots, comic samples, or workflow details if anyone is interested.

Fascinating problem...comic continuity is huge! Love the Character Lock and Style Lock approach. Definitely resonates. I'll give it a spin.

If you're up for it, I'm launching The Sponge on PH soon...an AI-powered flashcard app that turns webpages into spaced repetition study material. Would appreciate a follow (PRODUCT HUNT LAUNCH link in my profile).

@rianbrob Thank you very much, Rian - I really appreciate that.

I’m glad the problem resonates with you. Continuity is one of the biggest things that still makes long-form comic creation difficult, so that is exactly the gap I’m trying to address with LIGNIQUE through tools like Character Lock and Style Lock.

And absolutely - I’d be happy to support your launch as well. The Sponge sounds like a genuinely useful idea, especially with the spaced-repetition angle built around webpages. I’ll take a look and follow your Product Hunt launch.

Wishing you a very strong launch, and thank you again for the encouragement.
