I built a stock research tool because every alternative was either too expensive or too complicated
Hi, I'm Luke — solo founder from Melbourne, Australia.
I started investing a couple of years ago and quickly got frustrated. The free tools (Yahoo Finance, Google Finance) give you raw numbers with no context. The paid tools (Morningstar, Simply Wall St, Bloomberg) are either too expensive for a retail investor or designed for professionals who already know what they're looking at.
So I built FIS — Financial Intelligence Service. The idea is simple: take the same data the expensive platforms use, but present it in plain English so you can actually understand what it means. Think of it as an intelligence briefing for your portfolio, not a spreadsheet.
It covers multiple markets, pulls in company fundamentals, sentiment analysis, and market data, and is designed for people who want to make informed decisions without needing a finance degree.
We just launched on Product Hunt today and I'd love your feedback:
What would make a tool like this useful enough that you'd actually pay for it?
What's the biggest gap in your current investment research workflow?
What isn't out there in the investment research tool area that you'd like to see FIS do for you?
If you try it out, what's the first thing you'd want to see improved?

Happy to answer any questions about the build, the tech, or the business. Built the entire thing with AI as a solo non-technical founder, which is a story in itself.
