I got tired of installing a different Android app for every small task, so I built Tinkit
I often needed one app to open DOCX/XLSX files, another for PDFs, another for OCR, and another for simple image tools.
So I built Tinkit, an Android toolbox that puts these small everyday utilities in one place.
Some of the things it can currently do:
• Open PDF, DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX, PPTX, CSV, TXT, JSON and Markdown
• Scan text with OCR
• Scan tables and export them to CSV/XLSX
• Turn scanned documents into editable Word files
• Merge, split and compress PDFs
• Compress, resize and convert images
• Scan and generate QR codes
Many supported tools are designed to work directly on the device, and no account is required.
I’ve just released it on Android:
Google Play:

One thing I’m still thinking about is positioning:
Would you rather use one toolbox with many small utilities, or separate apps that each specialize in one task?
I’d be interested to hear how other makers approach this trade-off.
