Managed Email APIs vs. Raw AWS SES: Why is there no middle ground?

When bootstrapping a new SaaS, what's your go-to for transactional email?

Most devs I know either swallow the high costs of Resend/Postmark for the dev experience, or spend hours configuring AWS SES to save money but lose out on good logging and bounce analytics.

I wanted the developer experience of a managed API but the pricing/privacy of AWS SES. Since I couldn't find it, I built SendFleet (https://www.producthunt.com/products/sendfleet). It lets you drop in your own AWS credentials, and we layer the infrastructure, domain checks, and tracking logs right on top.
