What if your phone made you do push-ups before you could scroll? 💪📱
One of the things we wanted to experiment with while building AntiRot was this:
What happens if you add a little physical friction between someone and the app they're about to doomscroll?
That's where our Push-Up Challenge comes in.
When you've blocked an app and try to open it, AntiRot can show an overlay asking you to complete a push-up challenge before continuing.
The idea isn't to punish you.
It's to break the automatic → open app → scroll → repeat loop.
Instead of instantly getting what your brain is asking for, you have to pause, make a conscious decision, and do something physical first.
And honestly, that's what makes the feature interesting to us. 😅
We're experimenting with different types of friction because we don't think every distraction needs another notification saying:
"You've been using this app for 2 hours."
Sometimes you just need something that makes you stop for a second.
We're still refining AntiRot, but this is one of the features we're most curious to see people react to.
Would a push-up challenge actually stop you from opening a distracting app, or would you just do the push-ups and keep scrolling anyway? 😂
We have built AntiRot to find out.
