Shadow - AI that sees, listens, and understands every meeting

by
Your meeting AI is missing half the picture. It hears what's said but ignores what's on screen. Shadow captures both—no bot needed—and turns that full context into action with custom AI tasks. Stop recapping. Start delivering.

What languages does it support?

Jay Song

@sarbarzn Currently, Shadow officially supports English only, so all AI prompts are optimized for English. However, transcription supports all major languages and works seamlessly with our AI features! What language do you speak?

@Shadow the screen+audio capture angle is powerful and underserved. Most meeting AI misses half the context you're showing. Key question: how are you handling privacy/compliance for enterprises dealing with sensitive data on-screen? Also, what's your latency like for action extraction?

Jay Song

@imraju thanks for the comment! That’s a really great question.

While many AI tools claim a zero-retention policy, Shadow goes a step further. We do not store any screen, audio, or transcript data. Although we utilize servers for our AI and LLM processing, your data is never saved to a database. Since we don't retain or own the data, your information remains truly private!

I love your UI. Do you actually store the transcripts and have the bot in the desktop app or in web? I'm wondering how the sharing works.
Thanks.

Jay Song

@pasha_tseluyko Hi Pavel! Thanks for the comment.

To clarify, the transcription and screenshot processes happen 100% locally on your device, and all data is stored locally.

As you might expect, using AI-powered features or sharing via webhooks does require data to be processed through the internet. However, since we don't store or own this data on our servers, it remains far more secure than other cloud-based solutions. It’s a much more robust approach to privacy!

Cool stuff @jaythesong , I'll definitely give Shadow a try! It's a different usecase but I suspect similar tech to my AI voicemail platform.

ps best of luck on your launch today - really wish you all the best! But don't get sloppy now I'm rapidly closing with at place #11 today!

Jay Song

@peter_van_doorn thanks Peter! I've just checked out your launch and it does seem like that! Voice Mate sounds super interesting too. I wish you all the best!

I've been a Shadow user for well over a year now and find it a major part of my workflow.

I was first drawn to Shadow due to its offline transcription. This is a considerable plus in highly regulated industries. The automation of skills is also another great time saver, such as exporting Markdown meeting notes to a folder for synchronization or connecting with Obsidian and other note-taking apps.

Now they've introduced screen recording, which gives the models much more context about what you were doing. This should be a significant boost in productivity and recall.

It would be difficult to keep up with work without it. I don't know how I—or anyone else—got by without it before it existed.

Jay Song

@aixsecurity Thanks a lot, DJ! We couldn't have come this far without your support, really. 🫡

Wow, Shadow is mind-blowing! Love that it captures the screen share, not just the audio. Im curious, how does Shadow handle privacy when recording sensitive information displayed on the screen?

Turning Shadow from “ears” into both ears and eyes is a really strong leap — smart screenshots tied to context feel like the missing piece for real meeting memory. Love that you kept it bot-free and privacy-first while adding power.
Curious: how are teams using Smart Screenshots most so far — for slide recall, decision tracking, or async handoffs after meetings?

Congratulations on the new launch! I just had an idea. Right now there are quite a few apps that record calls, but I haven’t seen a single one that automatically organizes all agreements into groups. For example, I work on AI development projects. My clients often ask to add something new or we agree on finances. When calls weren’t recorded, it was really hard. Now it’s somewhat easier, but I still need to find the right information among many calls, and some projects last for months or even years. It would be really useful if I could create a project/client and tell AI what I need to track, having it organized into separate threads from each conversation with this contact or group of contacts from one company. For example, this is an Apple client, and I need to collect additional tasks and finances in two different threads, make short summaries, and include links to specific calls/times/people involved in that agreement. I really feel like something like this is missing right now!

Wow, Shadow is amazing! The no-bot meeting capture is genius. How does it handle screen sharing when multiple people are presenting different things? Super curious!

Shadow has a nice, straightforward feel to it and gets you productive quickly without much friction. It does a good job covering the core needs and fits naturally into daily workflows. That said, some areas still feel a bit early and could benefit from more depth and flexibility. Promising product overall, especially if it keeps evolving in that direction!
