How do global teams handle internal terminology across languages?

While building Shavely (a multilingual chat app), we discovered a problem:

Machine translation often fails with internal terminology.

Example: Hotel housekeeping term "Stay Full"

  • Normal translation → nonsense

  • Actual meaning → full cleaning while guest stays

So we added a custom dictionary feature where teams define translations.
