What screenshot tool do you actually use?

Most people either never left the built-in shortcut or installed something years ago and never looked at the category again. I want to see the real spread, and more than that, what happens to the image after you take it.

@bickov I mostly stick with the built in screenshot tool too. It's hard to beat when I just need a quick capture and want to paste it straight into Slack or ChatGPT.

@aaron_mitchell7 Quick capture into Slack is the case where built-in wins outright. No argument there.
Where does it stop working for you? For me it is the moment the thing does not fit on one screen. Curious also whether ChatGPT reads your pastes fine, or whether it ever comes back describing the wrong part of the image.

Shift+Cmd+S for a region, Shift+Cmd+L for a full scrolling page
What happens after the capture (annotate, drop in Slack, paste into an AI chat, ...):
Annotate, then either drop the PNG into Slack or a doc, or copy it as JSON and hand that to a terminal agent instead of the image
Why this one:
Scroll capture that grabs a whole long page without repeating sticky headers, and the output is text as well as an image. Useful when the screenshot has to end up in a spec or a bug report, and terminal agents cannot take an image at all, so it saves typing out what is on the screen.
Teampaper for MacOs is the best for me, I use it since 2020 and it's free

What happens after the capture:
Screenshots go into a folder Caplio watches, so they automatically show up in my visual library. I can search the text inside them later, browse by timeline/category, and find similar captures when I’ve taken the same screenshot a few times.
Why this one:
The built-in Mac screenshot tool is already good enough for me. My bigger problem was finding and managing screenshots after I took them, so I built Caplio for that.
