nappy is a website dedicated to providing free, beautiful, high-res photography of black and brown people to creatives, startups, brands, and agencies. nappy makes it easy for companies to be purposeful about representation in their designs, presentations, and advertisements.
I recently had a need for good, modern stock photos of black people and it was a struggle, so sites like this make me happy. I'm just concerned about the weight of the page and how big (in size) the thumbs are. Also it would be good if there was a search/tag functionality.
Pros:
Much needed.
Cons:
A bit slow, perhaps use smaller images for the thumbs? And add a search.

Hey, I think that's a great product!
I recently stumbled upon TONL (https://tonl.co/) that seems to be a similar product, glad to see products focusing on making the web as diverse as the world.
@gflandre yes TONL.co is great. Weβre on similar missions. The only difference is that our photos are gifted from photographers but youβll find some amazing photos from them as well.
@samsexton we thought hard and ling before deciding that this WAS the perfect name for us. If you look at my msg above (or below lol) I explain the significance of our name.
Honestly, just try finding pictures of people in a web search or photo site that don't look eerily, homogeneously white. Most of what's available doesn't accurately represent my society or audience, and I'm glad that there's at least one new alternative.
Pros:
Fills a massive hole in representation and image availability
