Sparkle - Kids Stories - Turn kids’ drawings into magical story adventures

by
Sparkle turns your child’s drawings into living heroes and personalized audio stories. We built Sparkle to create a calmer alternative to loud, generic kids’ apps where children actively shape the content instead of just consuming it. Each story is based on the child’s own drawing, with parents guiding themes like confidence or new experiences. Ad-free, age-appropriate, with Guardian Mode and PIN protection.

Hi Product Hunt 👋

I’m Daniel, co-founder of Sparkle ✨

We’re three students from different universities who started Sparkle because something felt missing in children’s apps. Too many were loud, generic, or disconnected from the child itself.

We wanted to build something calmer and more personal where children don’t just consume stories, but shape them. In Sparkle, a child’s drawing becomes the hero of their own audio adventure, guided by imagination and gently supported by parents.

Our goal is to create something that feels thoughtful, calm, and genuinely personal - not automated or interchangeable.

We’d love your feedback and questions. Thanks for checking out Sparkle 🖍️✨

@daniel_sperlin This is beautiful! The intersection of children and the online world is often such a tricky, 'gray' space. Instead of another app designed just to grab a child's attention, you’ve built something that actually empowers their imagination. 🎨 It’s so refreshing to see a product that prioritizes calm and personal over loud and generic!

I noticed you’re supporting 30+ languages, which is an incredible feat for such a personal product! How do you handle the translations to make sure the stories keep that 'calm and magical' tone across different cultures? Do you use a specific AI workflow for the localization?

Daniel Sperlin

@tereza_hurtova Thank you so much, Tereza. Your words truly mean a lot to us. You captured exactly what we hoped to create with Sparkle: a space where children feel empowered to imagine rather than overwhelmed by noise. 😊

We use AI for translations together with clear tone-of-voice guidelines. To be fully transparent, we haven’t been able to validate every language with native-level review yet. We’re iterating heavily based on feedback and continuously improving the most-used languages first.

Is there a language that would be especially important to you?

Tereza Hurtová
@daniel_sperlin I truly appreciate the honesty, Daniel! As someone who will be tackling multi-language localization very soon as well, I completely get it. When you need to move fast and launch, you simply can’t have a native speaker on speed dial for 30+ different languages. Actually, 30 languages is an absolute beast of a feat for a launch - huge respect for that! As for your question, I’m Czech, so naturally, I’d say Czech! But honestly, don't feel any pressure. My English is (hopefully) good enough to navigate a magical adventure, and if the AI translation into Czech accidentally turns a hero into a potato or something, I’ll just consider it an 'experimental comedy' feature and let you know! 😂 Keeping my fingers crossed!

Fantastic idea. Having 3 kids on my own, I would love to test this. Any plans when this would be available in Google Play Store for Android phone?

Daniel Sperlin

@martin_lux Thank you so much. That means a lot, especially coming from a parent of three! 😊

Yes, we’re currently working on bringing Sparkle to Android and the Google Play Store. It’s high on our priority list, and we’re aiming to make it available as soon as possible.
