Steer is a native macOS utility that allows users to quickly fix and iterate their writing in any app or website. It is optimised for business communication, efficiency and speed. It never disrupts the workflow and is always one shortcut away.
@skavhellen Good question. Yes, since it runs on GPT-4, it supports multiple languages. We tweaked the model to detect the language and respond in whatever you input. Although, English performs the best, of course.

Awesome, I write a lot, this one should be helpful.
Hi @vojta_bohm, congratulations on the launch! I'm testing it right now. The shortcut feature is perfect and greatly improves my workflow (no more lame copy-pasting, yay). The only thing I'd add is the ability to not just fix mistakes, but to rewrite the input text with an improved style.
@vojta_bohm@alikimovich Hi Andrei, thanks! We're not fans of prompting and copy-pasting every time either. To rewrite the text, use the "Improve writing" option and eventually the retry option, until you like it.

So I have 2 Macbooks; One is completely inoperable, the other has a busted keyboard. I can completely see this working for the one that at least has a keyboard with a few functioning keys and will give it a try!
@runtcpip thank you Morgan, please do :D and let us know what you think.

@vojta_bohm It turns out my MacBook won't update beyond 11.7.10 and Steer needs at least 11.7.12 if I remember correctly. Do you have an older version with the same functionality for those of us with really old Macbooks?
@runtcpip Ah, that's a shame :( Unfortunately, we don't. The minimum system requirements (macOS 12 and up) are there because the code would get too complicated and hard to maintain otherwise.
@2zh9yg8ngc first of all it's the integration with your operating system. It works anywhere, where cmd+c and cmd+v normally works. Grammarly is a bit hacky.
Also, it's optimized for a fast workflow (shortcuts, arrows, only a subset of options), whereas Grammarly is more of an all-in-one product. You probably wouldn't use Grammarly to rewrite short messages because it takes much longer.
@2zh9yg8ngc Good question. Grammarly's flow isn't very efficient since you have to manually click through each change. Also, their widget can be quite obstructive in the UI. We wanted to be more subtle, always in the background, ready to fix your entire paragraphs with one shortcut :)
@jaredl Thanks! We also love the integration into the operating system and believe that's where Steer really stands out. Try it out and let us know your thoughts then
For me personally, Steer shined when I was at hackathon in the US. English is not my first language and everyone was so proficient at business talk, that it was hard for me to keep my communication on the same level. That's when I started to polish almost every message I sent to Slack and it gave me much more credibility.
We got a free no-card trial and give it a shot, if you can relate to hurting your appearance by not writing as good as you can. And tell us, what we can improve

Congratulations on the product launch. What are you feelings about the last hour? :-D
