Hey Product Hunt! I'm Sashko, engineering manager for Stripe Elements. For the last 4 years, Elements has been one of the most customizable ways to use Stripe. You can embed Stripe-built input fields and buttons on your page—a card input here, an Apple Pay or Google Pay button there. We heard from users that even though customizability was important, it was often too much work, especially when it came to adding more payment methods. The new Payment Element is a re-imagining of Elements that is totally visually customizable to match the appearance of any page, takes just a few lines of code to set up, and brings a ton of features out of the box to increase revenue: - 18 payment methods so you can support customers on every continent, dynamically showing the payment methods most likely to improve conversion - Automatically displays the right input fields needed for each payment method, with great validation and input formatting - Built-in accessibility and support for browser features like autofill - Responsive design that works on desktop and mobile web Try out the Payment Element for yourself — https://stripe.com/docs/payments... — and I’d love to hear any feedback!

@stubailo I'm actually wrestling with this and Stripe right now haha - but if that Windows 95 theme is open sourced then my problem is solved

@stubailo I have to say, I'd love the ability to just specify some HTML and CSS in the Stripe dashboard and be done with it. This Elements package feels like I'm trying to mod a MySpace page

@msavin Hey Max! Good news, the Windows 95 theme is open source so you're all good to go. You can copy paste the appearance options from here: https://stripe.com/docs/stripe-j... Unfortunately, it would be very challenging for us to allow full HTML/CSS while still supporting all of the features of Elements and maintaining security. But we're looking into options like having a visual editor, and we'll take into account your idea as well.

I just finish building mine who I designed and coded from A to Z, custom bill design, etc... I just do think is missing all emails communication exemple who go around the payment process to win time, also who was A/B tested from years from the Stripe users to have something standard where the buyers “ already “ saw them somewhere to remove to him the payment stress and feel to be at home.

I love stripe, but those payment screens are boring as hell. Some human touch would be nice. I like what brand24 did, it is funny https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v0...

@stubailo I see services like AfterPay listed in the screenshots and a list of 18 payment methods. Any plans to add Plaid for ACH? (to allow ACH debit with the Plaid bank login feature). Trying to speed up actually capturing ACH payments instead of only micro-deposits or verification.

this looks nice! what are the pros/cons of using Elements instead of Stripe Checkout?
