Hey PH! 👋
I work at a bank. Every day I see small business owners — online sellers, food carts, freelancers — managing their “books” with a notebook, a calculator app, and a prayer.
I asked a few of them why they don’t use accounting software. Same answer every time:
“Too complicated.” “Too expensive.” “I don’t know accounting.”
That felt wrong. They’re running real businesses — they just don’t speak accountant.
So I built Talkbooks. You just talk to it.
“Sold 5 handbags on Shopee at 3k each” → sale recorded, inventory updated, revenue tracked
“Restock all out-of-stock items, collared 10 each, cropped 20” → done in one message
“How is my business doing?” → instant financial analysis
34 operations via chat — sales, expenses, inventory, orders, payables, receivables, payout reconciliation.
No forms. No menus. No accounting degree required.
Built solo, nights and weekends.
👉 Live on iOS. Android coming this week.
Would love your feedback — what would make this useful for your business?
Is Talkbooks good for freelance artists as well? Coz for me, I take notes on my phone's note app since that's how I usually keep track of my commissions. So, can you tell me what makes Talkbooks better than simple note-taking apps, like what makes it a lot easier than just note-taking? And how would you recommend this to people who are not always open to using AI?
Hey @angela_alarcon!
Great question! Yes - works perfectly for freelancers.
Honestly, the problem with notes is you end up with a long list that doesn't do anything. You still have to scroll, add things up manually, and figure out who paid and who didn't.
With Talkbooks you type the same way — "commission from Sarah 5k" — but then you can ask "how much did I make this month?" or "who still owes me?" and actually get an answer. It's like if your notes app could think.
For people hesitant about AI — I get it. But you're literally just typing what happened, same as you would in Notes. The only difference is it organizes itself. Try it once and you'll see what I mean. Shorter, more conversational, sounds like a human founder replying — not a chatbot. :)
@johnmosesventura Oh! Alright, that's really cool! I'll definitely check it out.
@angela_alarcon Thank you! I'll really appreciate that!
