πŸ‘‹ Hi Hunters! I'm the maker of TalkMirror. I built this because I wanted to practice my English speaking and presentation skills, but I hated the friction of "Record -> Stop -> Find File -> Play". I also didn't want my voice data being uploaded to any AI servers. So I built TalkMirror with a RAM-only audio engine. It records only when you speak and plays back instantly when you pause. No data touches the disk. It's completely free (with an optional tip jar). I'd love to hear your feedback on the "Breath Density" UI in Mode 3! Thanks for checking it out! πŸš€

Been trying to improve my English speaking and found this at the right time. Exploring mode 1 right now, really helpful so far. Recording only when you speak + instant playback is exactly what I need right now. Cool launch!

Β Thanks so much for trying it out and sharing your experience!
Really glad Mode 1 is helping you β€” that β€œspeak β†’ pause β†’ instant playback” flow was exactly what I wanted to get right.

I’ll keep iterating and improving the product. If you have any feedback as you keep using it, I’d love to hear it πŸ™

πŸ‘‹ Hi Hunters, TalkMirror 2.0 is out!

Thanks to everyone who tried 1.0 and left feedback here. The core loop hasn't changed: speak, pause, and hear yourself instantly. What's new is everything around it:

🎨 Five themes that redraw all three modes, not just the accent color: Default, Paper & Ink, Pixel Arcade, Spotlight and Night Radio

🐦 Pixel Arcade adds pixel companions (a parrot, a fennec, a kid in headphones) that listen, talk along and react to your breath density

πŸ“± Native iPad support

🎧 Put on or take off AirPods mid-session and keep going, plus calmer practice on the built-in speaker

✨ A short themed finish after each session. No scores or grades, and you can turn it off

The privacy promise is the same: audio is processed in memory, never saved and never uploaded. Still free, no ads, no account, and all five themes are included.

Full write-up:

Which theme would you pick? Night Radio is my late-night favorite πŸ“»
