Tara AI 1.0 - The smart and free alternative to Jira.

Hey PH Community 👋 Kat- thanks for the hunt! We're psyched to be sharing Tara AI - in its open beta. My co-founder Syed and I started noodling on productivity tools a few years ago. After interviewing 250+ engineers and founders, we discovered that most project management software a) takes a lot of time to configure b) is not built for cross-functional teams and c) takes away focus from the release cycle. The status quo is that engineers spend precious time wading through tickets, and EMs + PMs continue to lack visibility at the release level. This only gets worse with distributed teams across different time zones, and as teams outside of engineering rely on product to meet customer milestones and release dates. We've been lucky to meet others that share these frustrations and assemble a founding team passionate about the problem. We've been day one users of the platform and so far love the experience. I've worked at larger companies where Jira has been the gold standard and once I moved to the startup world I quickly realized 1) I don't have the bandwidth to set up all tooling I used to have in an established product org 2) my engineers were on the fence about adopting a tool that required more upkeep and decreased their overall productivity. We still wanted some structure on how things get built in the company and Tara provided us with a quick way to jump right in. Personal most valuable feature for me has been the tight integration between requirements, tasks and sprints.

Tara is the like the wonderful baby that Trello and JIRA had when they finally realized neither of them worked well for startup engineering teams. We've been having a great time using Tara to keep our sprints on track. I can see our teams have little friendly competitions to complete their sprint tasks on time and get better at estimating effort for each task. This is the fist time we're seeing this happen on a consistent basis and that's been the most rewarding part of using Tara. Highly recommend!

Here to share my experience as a designer who've been using the platform. I've been very stoked about using the product with new features being added almost every week. I typically work across the board with different consumer sites and having our developers on the platform has made it easy for me to organize my work and theirs. I really forward to seeing the platform support more of my workflow tools in the future!

New to PH but wanted to share the experience of a newbie using the platform. I for one have been a power trello user but over time it became more of an unmanaged mess. We got invited to use Tara in its early access phase and we couldn't be happier. Its bought in a lot of more consistency in delivering work in sprints which was also a fairly new concept to me and my engineers. It's also forced some really good habits of pre-planning and organizing our thoughts better before we dive head first into building things. Also being a part of the product this early has meant that our requests for features and feedback has really made our experience on the platform amazing.

Long time (10 years+) jira user. Looking forward to checking this out.

We've been running R&D sprints on Tara for some time now and couldn't be happier! After jumping from JIRA to Trello to just a Notion Kanban board, Tara was finally the solution that is really sticking with us and structuring the work we do. Our product and growth teams are now itching to jump on too! Great stuff!

Congrats on your launch. Just came in to say Hi and awesome job to your team. I've been a daily user for the past few weeks after being invited by my team. I really get the appeal, it serves well for our team size and we get more work done. We were on Jira Cloud for a few weeks before we transitioned as a team, good riddance because Burn down charts and reporting don't matter when you're moving fast 🏃

Love the UI - super simple and easy on the eyes. UX is also very intuitive, I'm going to enjoy using this. Congratulations to the team for putting this together! Will be super helpful with team management especially with how things are right now around the world.
