This is a cool idea! And I like the name. I was in San Fran recently and one evening, just as I sat down at my reserved table at the restaurant, I remembered I was supposed to pick up one of my friends on my way to dinner. Really didn't want to get back up, so I used my own Uber account and put my location as her address. Not the most user friendly experience. How do you deal with account ownership? When the Uber driver sends a message, does it reach the sender or the guest?
Bob
@alex_guirguis Thanks for the support! What you mentioned is the perfect use case! Right now when the Uber driver sends a text message it goes to the Sender of the Teleport. We are working on having that message be sent to the guest. Currently, the guest has access to all of the information of the driver including seeing on a map his/her ETA to them, name, car, phone number to reach them, license plate #, and picture. We also send text messages to the guest as the car is approaching.

This looks really cool. Question - I have a friend who is visually impaired. They can use a smartphone with accessibility options. Can I Teleport them @bobawu? Or more precisely, how does it work for the visually impaired?
Bob
@alexsalkever Great question. We don't currently have voice activated features, but we are thinking of innovative ways we could implement them. We definitely want to support use cases like the one you mentioned.

Oh I LOVE the concept. I completely relate to some comments, would love to try! as @Paultomkinson wrote "I actually have been frustrated on many occasions trying to call an Uber or Lyft for the person I'm departing from (for various reasons)." I am based in SF. One of my dates, visiting from abroad, gave $20 to my uber driver not knowing how the system works. This was so sweet and I had a great laugh with him on this! No need to say he didnt give cash to my driver the day after but I am pretty sure he would have paid for all my trips if Teleport had been available otherwise! Not that I needed/wanted him to pay, but I really (really) appreciated the gesture.

Can I also send people away?
