Real excited to try the "Actions and Decisions" functionality.

@jerry_hsiang1 You'll never want to live without it in a chat stream again :)

Why?

@andrewdavidj :D:D:D Good one!

The "focus mode" on this seems handy. I'm a die hard Slack user at the moment but it's nice to see healthy competition to keep it moving forward.

@jrfarr Glad to hear it! Slack makes a great product. We've been doing this a long time – even longer than Slack, speaking of healthy competition! – and we believe we're bringing a complete team communication solution that helps better solve for the drain on your attention, better video and audio Meetings, and of course actually turning all that chat into actionable to-dos or decisions. Maybe we'll sway you to come our way with time if we prove "healthy" enough for you. Keep an eye on us! ;)

Congrats on the launch, Atlassian & the entire Stride team. I saw that an app marketplace was mentioned in a thread here. Should developers who are interested in building out a Stride integration be doing anything to prepare besides applying for an API token?
Cameron Savage
@andygcook Thank you! Developers who apply for the Stride API early access program will have first opportunity to list their Stride apps in the embedded app marketplace within Stride, as well as appear in our Atlassian Marketplace. You can learn more, and apply, from the API announcement here: https://community.developer.atla... And also, a link to the Marketplace – Stride will be there soon! https://marketplace.atlassian.com/

Atlassian design and product team deserves a big kudos. Stride logo is wow - It simply denotes the long step! The new feature "Decision" is something very new in chat platform will be very useful.. Awaiting to use it 😍. The Landing page is killer!

Will be interesting to see how well this does. It's a bit late to the game, but the pricing is attractive. Plus the free account includes 15k more messages than Slack's and has group video.

@cameronsavage any details about capabilities of API and what the integration surface area will look like?
Cameron Savage
@mbrevoort Hey, Mike. Pasting a comment I also added above about API (even though it's a paste, I still <3 you specifically as a person): Developers who apply for the Stride API early access program will have first opportunity to list their Stride apps in the embedded app marketplace within Stride, as well as appear in our Atlassian Marketplace. Best info will be available from the API announcement here: https://community.developer.atla...

Out of curiosity, what makes me want to use this instead of Slack?
Cameron Savage
@karimmaassen When designing and building Stride, we put significant time into thinking about how teams collaborate and communicate today on existing chat tools. You've probably seen the criticisms out there (or even felt them yourself) that chat can be a never ending stream that is distracting and hard to follow important activity. With Stride, we set out to build a complete communications solution – not just chat. We believe – and know from using and researching – that our native Video and Audio Meetings help you, your team, and anyone else connect more easily. Collaboration tools like Actions + Decisions help you pull the meat of a productive conversation out of the general activity so its easier to know what needs to happen or what was decided. And when you need to take Action on something, you can turn down distractions with 'Focus Mode' to get your work done. Of course you'd have to use it yourself to truly know, but what do you think about that ^^ ?

@cameronsavage Ok, I'll give it a go!

Looking awesome I must say. Do you have a task list view? Say I am creating tons of tasks out of chat conversations, do I have a way to a see a task-focused view aggregating to-dos created across channels? That could make us switch from Slack
Cameron Savage
@ilan Thank you! Glad you like what you see, and would love to have you join up on Stride I don't have specific details I can share on how exactly we'll be wielding Actions + Decisions, but you can bet we'll be doing all sorts of cool things with them!

@cameronsavage thanks Cameron, you didn't answer my question though ;) Do you have a simple task view that aggregates all my tasks created across Stride?
Stowe Boyd
@ilan @cameronsavage I have to imagine you're planning a deep Trello integration, which is unannounced?
