I'd rather pay a small fee to use graphics and keep my site completely clean. Finding places for attribution isn't always easy. I fully understand they are looking for back-links to help promote their main product, but they could offer a $9.95 download option or something like that and do away with the attribution. Obviously people could download them and NOT give attribution (and I'm sure a lot of people do), but I always support authors by doing what they ask.

Pros:

Lots of nice icons and categorized well

Cons:

You have to post attribution to Tilda.

No money is involved, but they do have a considerable cost. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the work, but having to link your site as part of the license agreement is not what I would call free icons.

@vladkorobov Yeah, because I might like very much Tilda ones and decide to use them, and my project evolve in some direction where linking to another unrelated sites is not part of the strategy. At that point I would have to redesign the whole thing, and the cost of using Tilda icons would be much bigger than any priced icons. I have my own projects and I know the hard work behind, but honestly, I would never offer something with a hidden marketing strategy that ultimately is payed by my users.

@aleksicmiljan if you project evolve in "that kind of direction" when you have "strategy to not linking" I congratulate you with a good revenue stream and I am sure you would like to have unique icons of your brand at that point 😎 What would be the cost in 💲you pay for a good icon set?

@vladkorobov I don't know that, but would definitely rather pay than link. Although you have a point for new projects that could not afford it, and taking that in consideration the best option would be to allow choosing the way to compensate the authors, by 💲or link.
